​Welcome to R'Ocotillo We welcome family and friends to explore the newly renovated Carefree, AZ hideaway in the Sonoran Dessert. We trust that you'll find the Carefree/Cave Creek area as beautiful and rustic as we do. We ask that all guests follow the below guidelines so that we keep our Sonoran hideaway clean and ready for future guests.  Enjoy your stay in Arizona, the wild, wild west! Arrangements need to be made in advance to obtain residence keys, please call Rita When you arrive you are going to want to find your way to the garage to turn up the hot water heater.  Go through the laundry room, then into the garage, to your right there is another door to a furnace room. Open the door and to your right will be the hot water heater in the back corner,turn the red knob from LOW (A) to High (C or D). Assorted travel brochures, maps and guide books are located in the great room nearest to the Kitchen.  Please return them when you are done with your visit for use by our next guests.   There are several pools, hot tubs and sauna's located within the complex that guests can visit, the closets is located on Boulder Dr. just a short walk or drive from R'Ocotillo.  The Pool is unguarded and available from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. To gain entrance use the side gate, not the front entrance, reach over the top of the gate and push handle down.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Glass in any form is prohibited in the pool area and people are asked to put refuse in the appropriate disposal containers.  Restrooms are available on sight, as well as a refrigerator, grill and other amenities, feel free to use them but please clean up after yourselves and follow the posted rules within the complex. The Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, silverware, pots & pans, utensils, coffee maker, toaster and serving pieces.  Make yourselves at home, eat a home cooked meal or order in and enjoy the spectacular views of the Boulders and Black Mountain.  Microwave - Please refrain from pulling the microwave drawer door open, there is a button you push and the drawer will pop out. Dishwasher typically runs for approximately 2 hours, please make sure dishes are properly stowed upon your departure for the next guests. Please do not leave food in the refrigerator or freezer when you leave as it will be discarded. Also, please do not adjust the temperature settings. There are condiments in the cabinets you can use as needed and add to if you don’t want to take something home. The Washer/Dryer has instructions posted on the side of the machine. The Washer is a high efficiency machine which means you should use no more than ¼ cup of detergent.  The washer/dryer can be filled but not stuffed.  Please wash soiled sheets and linens prior to departure; make the beds and replace the towels as they were.  There are two thermostats in the house, the main thermostat is located in the kitchen and controls the majority of the house.  The second thermostat is located in the family room, this one controls the back bedrooms. Both units display the current temperature. Push the up or down button once to find the current setting and adjust the setting.  There are ceiling fans throughout the house to help with air movement and keep it cool. Upon departure please make sure thermostats are set back to original settings (Summer Months AIR 82F) (Winter AIR/HEAT OFF) Please be sure to empty all trash within the residence at the end of your stay. Garbage pickup is every Wednesday, if you are present during that time please make sure all garbage is placed inside roll-out containers located in the garage.  Blue is for garbage, Green is for recycle.  Position both containers at the curb for pickup. Television - The family room is equipped with a TV and ROKU, an internet modem, which allows guests to watch popular apps such as Netflix or Hulu.  Turn on the TV with the TV remote and then use the ROKU remote and turn on that unit.  Use the ROKU remote to pick which program you want to watch.  Netflix is already pre-programmed so please enjoy! Currently the only other working TV is located in the Master Bedroom, which also works off of the internet.  Cable TV is not yet available at R'Ocotillo. Gas Fireplace can be used but please be sure to turn the gas off completely prior to departure.  In case of fire, call 9-1-1 and get everyone out of the house safely to a specific meeting point. If you have children, please review the procedures when you arrive and go over escape routes. The computer in the kitchen has internet access  please feel free to use it.  This is an Apple Computer, those guests not familiar with Apple Products to access the internet double click on the icon at the bottom called SAFARI.  Please remember that it is a shared resource so do not save user names/passwords or go to Adult content web sites. It may be slow starting up if it has not been used in a while as it downloads various updates and does virus scans. Wireless Internet - If you brought an Ipad or laptop and wish to gain access to the wireless network please see instructions located on the wireless router located on the breakfast bar in the kitchen.  While we realize you are on vacation, we ask that your family use the same household rules in our house as yours so there is minimal wear and tear or damage to our belongings. All of the furnishings are brand new and hopefully with the gentle use of our guests will withstand the test of time. There are four bedrooms, each room includes a queen size bed, a dresser, nightstand and a TV. Currently the unit can sleep 8 guests comfortably.  There is a Family Room with seating for 6 and a Great Room with additional seating and a fireplace. The dining room table will accommodate seating for 10 as is or 12 if the tables are separated.  Additional outdoor seating is located on the back patio.

Laundry detergent Dishwasher soap Iron and Ironing boardare located in the Laundry Room Some things R'Ocotillo may not have on hand: Sun screen lotion Hand/bath soap and shampoo Golf Clubs Toilet paper Napkins Paper towels Tissues Aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and staple kitchen items (salt, pepper, etc. – there may be some but bring the ones you use most frequently) Paper plates and plastic silverware (if desired) Cold-item condiments (ketchup, mustard, etc.) Cameras, Phones, IPad When you leave, please be sure to: Turn hot water heater back down to LOW(A) clean up after yourselves, the vacuum is located in front hall closet near the main entrance. empty all trashcans bring garbage to the garage run the dishwasher and wash the large pots/pans clean-out refrigerator return furniture to the original location take a last look for personal belongings Lock the front door, the garage door and make sure all of the sliding glass doors are securely locked.
